Shelor Motor Mile’s Share the Love event to benefit humane society, MCEAP
Each year nationally, Subaru allows customers to determine five community organizations to which Subaru will give financial donations. The fifth-annual Share the Love event will take place from Nov. 21 through Jan. 2. Customers will receive a great deal on any new Subaru, and for every new Subaru sold or leased; Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of charity. This year Subaru is making donations to Alzheimer’s Association, ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, and USO.
“‘Share the Love’ has always been about giving back to our communities in which we live and work,” said Subaru director of marketing communications Alan Bethke. “Subaru ‘Share the Love’ charitable partners have always reflected the values and ideals of our owners.”
This year, Shelor Motor Mile has localized the Subaru Share the Love event and will collect goods for the Humane Society of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Emergency Action Program.
The Humane Society of Montgomery County would appreciate donations of dog food, cat food, bleach, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer and baby wipes. The Montgomery County Emergency Action Program hopes to receive donations of nonperishable food items, such as canned and dry goods to assist families and individuals in immediate, temporary and emergency situations.
Shelor Motor Mile has partnered with the Auburn High School girls’ basketball team and will collect goods with the help of Christiansburg Walmart and local manager, Brian Tickle, allowing set-up of the Shelor Motor Mile Community Partnership trailer and Subaru Outbacks for contributions. Shelor Motor Mile employees and Auburn basketball players have volunteered to collect goods for local families and their pets. Donations will be collected at the Christiansburg Walmart on the following dates:
- Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Nov. 26 from 3 to 7 p.m.
