Christiansburg police launch Operation ‘Back Off’ for December
The Christiansburg Police Department wants drivers to be extra safe this holiday season and is launching Operation ‘Back Off’ during the month of December.
To help prevent crashes, the police department will be focusing on drivers who are following too closely, aggressive driving, and driver inattention.
“During the holidays, traffic volume increases and drivers are more distracted. Our goal is to reduce the number of crashes and injuries so everyone can have a safe, happy holiday,” said Maj. Dalton Reid.
In 2011, the number of car crashes in Christiansburg was highest in December. Following too closely and aggressive driving are the leading cause of car crashes within town limits.
