Claytor Lake State Park will be closed Dec. 15 during youth deer hunt
All overnight facilities and day-use areas will be closed at Claytor Lake State Park on Dec. 15 due to a youth-managed deer hunt throughout the park.
For safety reasons, Claytor Lake State Park will be closed for all day-use guests, including fishing and use of trails. Overnight facilities will also be closed.
Managed deer hunts are a tool in Virginia State Parks’ overall deer management program. Participating hunters are asked to support management efforts by following harvest guidelines associated with each hunt.
For general park information, visit http://www.virginiastateparks.gov or contact 643-2500 or ClaytorLake@dcr.virginia.gov. Claytor Lake State Park is located at 6620 Ben H. Bolen Drive.
