NRV beekeepers association to present introductory sessions in January
Members of the New River Valley Beekeepers’ Association will present “So, You Want To Be a Beekeeper” sessions at Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library branches in January 2013.
These sessions will address all aspects of getting started in beekeeping , including costs, equipment needed, time required, procedures for acquiring and keeping honey bees, expectations for honey harvest, and more).
The sessions dates are Jan. 5 at the Jessie Peterman Library in Floyd; Jan. 5 at the Meadowbrook Public Library in Shawsville; Jan. 12 at the Blacksburg Library; and Jan. 19 at the Christiansburg Library. All sessions begin at 1 p.m.
Presentations last approximately one hour and are free. No sign-up or pre-registration is required.
