Intrepid USA Healthcare in Radford receives national HomeCare Elite award
Intrepid USA Healthcare Services-Radford was recently named one of the 2012 HomeCare Elite by the National Research Corporation and DecisionHealth. The Radford home health agency was selected from more than 10,000 Medicare-certified home health agencies in the United States and was the only New River Valley agency to receive the award.
“We were very excited to receive the news,” said Lorrie Johnson, registered nurse and executive director of Intrepid USA–Radford. “Our staff continually sets themselves apart by providing the highest quality of care. They are compassionate about what they do; they genuinely care about our patients and their families, and it shows.”
The HomeCare Elite award is given to agencies that excel in quality of care and quality improvement, patient experience, process measure implementation and financial performance. Recipients were selected using publicly available data from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services Home Health Compare and CMS cost reports.
The health care market can be competitive, and one of the coveted rights that patients have is the right to choose their provider. Sometimes making that choice can be difficult – particularly if patients are unfamiliar with all the providers in their area. Resources such as the HomeCare Elite list and the CMS Home Health Compare can help people make better-informed decisions.
Intrepid USA, located at 520 W. Main St. in Radford, offers home health care services to patients living in the counties of Bland, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe, and portions of Carroll and Craig counties. They also recently began offering hospice services out of their Radford office and opened a home health branch office in Roanoke.
