Ewing Cabinet’s Souper Bowl event is Jan. 31 in Blacksburg

Posted January 15, 2013

On Thursday, Jan. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m., Ewing Cabinet Company/Ewing Building and Remodeling will team up with the United Way to host a Souper Bowl event modeled after the popular Food Network series.

Three local restaurants — 622 North, Poor Billy’s and Sal’s Restaurant — have been invited to prepare a soup that will be blind taste-tested and voted on by attendees at the event.

Tickets purchased online in advance cost $12, and tickets at the door cost $15. Each ticketholder will be granted access to appetizers, a bowl of each soup to sample, two drink tickets and a vote for their favorite bowl. Drinks will be provided by Bull and Bones. Additional drinks will be available for purchase.

The winning soup will take home the prize of “best soup,” and all proceeds will be donated to the United Way. As an added bonus, the first 50 people to purchase tickets will receive a free Hokie T-shirt.

Other great attractions, such as a photo booth by April Amodeo Photography and assorted gift raffles, will be on the agenda, as well.

The event will take place at the Ewing showroom at 1701 S. Main St. in Blacksburg. For more information, visit facebook.com/The.Ewing.Companies.
