NFL player bringing charity bowl-a-thon to Christiansburg
Former Virginia Tech player and current NFL wide receiver David Clowney will host the first-ever David Clowney Foundation Virginia Tech Alum Bowl-A-Thon on April 19 at Christiansburg’s NRV Superbowl.
The foundation assists underprivileged youth in obtaining their goals, according to a news release.
The foundation is offering an “Early Bird” special, which will allow participants to register through today for $35. This registration includes the cost of bowling, shoes, dinner, a T-shirt and a gift bag. The cost will increase Friday, and sales will continue through April 18.
The foundation is also participating in Applebee’s Dine to Donate program throughout the weekend of April 19-21. A portion of all proceeds from individuals dining at the Christiansburg Applebee’s location will be donated to the foundation.
