New Works Exhibit artwork submissions due Monday, Feb. 25
The application deadline for the upcoming 11th Annual New Works Exhibit in the Hayloft Gallery at The Jacksonville Center for the Arts is Monday, Feb. 25.
The show will open on Friday, March 22 and ends Saturday, May 19. Applications can be downloaded on the website at jacksonvillecenter.org. Those with limited computer access may request an application by calling 540-745-2784 or in person at the center. All mediums welcome that meet the center’s artistic standards. Work previously exhibited at the center or work already exhibited at another venue is not eligible for this exhibit.
The popular, annual New Works exhibit is the Hayloft Gallery’s oldest reoccurring exhibit with the first show taking place in 2003 after the barn was renovated and the Hayloft Gallery space created. The 2012 New Works exhibit featured a total of 81 works by 32 artists.
A “People’s Choice” award of $50 has been anonymously donated. The public will be invited to vote for their favorite piece. The winner will be announced after the end of the exhibit.
The Jax is located at 220 Parkway Lane S. in Floyd.
