Seven Springs Farm CSA is now signing up members for its 23rd season providing weekly bags of garden fresh vegetables and eggs.
Community-supported agriculture is a wonderful model for small farms to provide clean, nourishing food to their community. Families buy a share in the farm’s harvest and receive one or two bags of vegetables and eggs each week. The food is delivered to Eats Natural Foods in Blacksburg on Saturdays.
CSA is also one of the best ways for people to buy nourishing food that is local (from neighbors), in season, and grown in organically enriched soil. Though not certified, Seven Springs Farm does not use any products that are not approved for organic certification. Composts and cover crops are used to improve the soil.
The CSA has several ways to buy a share. There are three share sizes, accommodating single people to large families. Those with limited resources can receive a discount. Members can buy a working share if they choose, trading some help on the farm for a discount on their share. Children of all ages are welcome to come to the farm. They are invited to help or play.
