Artist deadline for 2012 Jax Juried Exhibition is Monday
The Jacksonville Center for the Arts is still accepting applications for the upcoming Hayloft Gallery exhibit, 2012 Jax Juried Exhibition, which is the last show of the year at the Center for artists to submit work.
The deadline for completed entry materials is May 28, which is not a postmark deadline. The show will be held from Friday, July 6 to Saturday, September 15, with a reception on Saturday, July14 from 5 to 8 p.m. Jim Moon will hold a Juror’s Talk for the first hour followed by awards presentation and reception. Prospectuses can be downloaded on the website at jacksonvillecenter.org/for-the-community/show-your-work/. Those with limited computer access may request an application by calling 745-2784 or stopping by the center.
This is the third year in a row The Jax will host a Juried Exhibition. The center is committed to hosting one Juried Exhibition a year, offering substantial cash prizes and professional and public recognition for artists. All fine arts and fine craft media including painting, sculpture, graphics, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, photography, time-based/new media and installation are accepted. Moon, a North Carolina artist, has worked mainly in oil painting and serigraph. He attended schools all over the world including Cooper Union in New York City, Accademia Pietro Vanucci, Perugia in Italy and Mexico City College in Mexico. His paintings are found in many public and private collections including New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
