Children’s book duo Raschka and Giovanni to perform at Lyric Theatre on Sept. 30

Chris Raschka, a Caldecott Medal winning illustrator, and Nikki Giovanni, world-renowned poet and Virginia Tech faculty member, will appear together in a family-friendly event at The Lyric Theatre on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m.
The pair have worked together on two children’s books: “The Genie in the Jar” and “The Grasshopper’s Song.” This special event will feature them collaborating as Raschka illustrates live while Giovanni reads.
