Posted September 24, 2012

Get ready for a day of tasty brews, rockin’ tunes, and cool cars at this year’s Blacksburg Brew Do, an award-winning craft beer festival occurring Saturday, Oct. 6 from noon to 6 p.m. at the First and Main Shopping District.

Two high-energy bands take the Brew Do stage on Oct. 6, starting at noon with 3 Minute Lovin’. This regional favorite specializes in a unique rockabilly, rock and roll, and honky-tonk style inspired by multiple decades of music. Next up, Gov’t Plant takes the stage at 3:15 p.m. 2012 will mark the band’s third appearance at Brew Do after being a festival favorite in 2009 and 2010. Gov’t Plant has a sound described as high-energy country blended with the sounds of southern rock, rock and blues.

The Grand Classic Cruisers and the New River Valley Jeep Club will showcase their vehicles in front of the shopping district during the festival. Bring the family and check out more than 100 cool, classic cars and Jeeps as you make your way into the festival or shops at First and Main. To participate in the show, contact Dale Echols at djechols@aol.com for Grand Classic Cruisers or Chris Rutherford at nrvjeepclub@aol.com for the New River Valley Jeep Club.

In addition to the outstanding music lineup and car show, Blacksburg Brew Do will include a daylong schedule of craft beer tastings, cooking with beer demonstrations, home brew and beer seminars, a luxury pet house raffle benefitting the Animal Welfare Foster Program, and much more.
