The Mike Mitchell Trio will be featured during the reception following the Chamber Ensemble Concert conducted by David Stewart Wiley, on Sunday, Oct. 21, 3:00 p.m., at Floyd EcoVillage.

The concert and reception will celebrate the inauguration of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Festival and the premiere of the new Celebration Hall, part of the Village Center at the EcoVillage. Wiley will conduct a chamber ensemble performing music by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Gershwin, Massenet, and more. The program will include the dedication of the grand piano specially selected for Celebration Hall. Following the chamber music, a meet-the-artists wine and champagne reception will feature The Mike Mitchell Trio, which includes violinist Mike Mitchell, guitarist David Oakes, and bassist Chris Prokosch. The jazz trio will perform standards from The Great American Songbook.
