Evening at Natasha’s concert Feb. 20 to benefit Blue Ridge Music Festival

Posted February 14, 2013

Natasha’s Market Café will feature a variety of jazz and blues music performances on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. as a special benefit concert for Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Festival.

The evening will be hosted by Rob Neukirch, actor and former owner (with his wife, Michelle) of Oddfellas’ Cantina. The music, a variety of favorites from The Great American Songbook, will be performed by violinist/fiddler Mike Mitchell, founder/director of Floyd Music School and Mitchell Music Co.; Les Moore, journeyman St. Louis blues guitar and harmonica player; long-time Floyd resident and vocalist, Sally Walker; Ed Cohn, professional vocalist and music teacher; guitarist and music teacher David Oakes; and jazz bassist Tom Klingelhofer.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Natasha’s delicious food is included, and a cash bar will be available. Tickets may be purchased via Paypal at virginiasblueridgemusicfestival.org or in person at Natasha’s Market Café, Mitchell Music Co., and the Jacksonville Center.

Proceeds from the evening will help benefit Virginia’s Blue Ridge Music Festival—Classical Music in the Mountains, taking place May 30 to June 9. The festival will feature an academy of pre-professional instrumentalists studying and performing with highly skilled professional mentors — chamber groups and full symphony orchestra performances and open rehearsals – all offering a rich musical experience in a wide variety of venues throughout Floyd County.
