Pearisburg Lions Club to sponsor 3 turkey shoots this summer and fall
The Pearisburg Lions Club is sponsoring three upcoming turkey shoots at Whitt-Riverbend Town Park on June 2, Aug. 4, and Oct. 6. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with shoot running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be meat and 50-50 cash prizes, and food and drinks will be available for sale. All proceeds will go to support Lions Club projects in Giles, including eye exams and glasses for the needy, “Camp Too Sweet” for children with diabetes, little league sports, Boy Scouts, and the Christmas Shopping Tour. To get to the park, take the Pearisburg-Ripplemead exit from U.S. 460, go east toward the New River, cross the railroad tracks and go up the river road to the park.
