First-annual Community Day of Giving in Christiansburg on August 18
Marketing On Main Street will be hosting the first-annual Community Day of Giving from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 18 in the Salvation Army parking lot on Roanoke Street in Christiansburg.
The event will feature a variety of games and entertainment including bingo for prizes, face painting, a raffle, corn hole, and a pizza eating contest sponsored by Pizza Inn.
The event is free and event t-shirts will be available for a donation of $10 or $10 worth of food.
Marketing on Main Street will be printing the shirts, complete with the event’s logo and company sponsorships. The minimum sponsorship to get a company’s name on the shirt is $100.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of canned goods for the pantry and, if possible, in the larger-sized cans to make storage easier.
Proceeds from the event will be jointly used to fund the Salvation Army’s campaign with Stuart Lynde with Environmental Services to provide a well for a village in Angola, Africa, as well to fill the Salvation Army’s local food pantry.
