Topeco Church in Floyd County to hold Turkey Supper
The Women’s Fellowship of Topeco Church of the Brethren will hold their annual Turkey Supper on Saturday evening, November 3rd in the fellowship hall of the church. Topeco Church is located at 3460 Floyd Highway, South about seven miles from the Town of Floyd. This supper is an annual tradition dating back over 65 years to when the congregation worshiped in the old white church, which sat across the road from the current location. It began as a means of fund raising to help pay for the parsonage built in 1945 and to raise funds to begin construction of the new brick church in 1950. The turkey supper continues not only for fund raising, but also as an opportunity for Christian Fellowship. The Women’s Fellowship regularly supports the Floyd County fire department and rescue squads, Christmas for All, Women’s Resource Center, New River Community Action Food Pantry just to name a few.
Take-out plates will be served from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Those wishing to dine in may do so from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. The menu consists of turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, a choice of green or baked beans, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, rolls, a variety of cakes and pies, and coffee or tea. The cost of the meal will beĀ $8.00 per plate and $5.00 for those 10 and under.
There will also be a display of other items for sale including an assortment of greeting cards and stainless steel pans and knives.
