Northside Presbyterian to hold Gospel Music Concert and Pot Luck Supper

Posted February 3, 2013

“In the resurrection morning, when the trump of God shall sound; We shall rise, Hallelujah, we shall rise!  Then the saints will come rejoicing and no tears will e’er be found; We shall rise, Hallelujah, we shall rise!”  It won’t exactly be the “trump of God” that sounds in Northside Presbyterian’s sanctuary on February 10th, but there WILL be rejoicing and plenty of “Hallelujahs!” sung to the glory of God as the Adult Choir (and friends) present an evening of Gospel music.  There will be a potluck supper just before the concert as well, so plan to come hungry both for physical nourishment and for spiritual nourishment to fill your soul (please bring a dish to share).  You’ll hear some old favorites (such as “Soon and Very Soon” and “Down in the River to Pray” and “Casting Our Crowns Down”) along with newer music in the gospel style.  Along with the choir’s gift of music to the congregation, several others have volunteered to enhance the evening with additional gospel numbers – feel free to clap and sing along!
