Polished by Claire V. will be opening their third location in Southwest Virginia in early April, according to Laura Godfrey, founder of Claire V.
The new location will take over a 2,500-square-foot space which was once occupied by Xanadu Gifts at 101 S. Main St. in Blacksburg.
The spa’s other two locations are in Roanoke.
Godfrey said Blacksburg’s Polished will offer primarily spa services – manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and make-up applications.
“The services we offer aren’t offered anywhere else in the area, the demographics are right for our business model and we’ve been thrilled by the response we’ve gotten so far from our customers in Blacksburg.” Godfrey said.
In addition to their spa services, Polished will also carry products in-store like bareMinerals, Bliss Spa, Natural Life, OPI Nail Polish, Illume Candles, Hollywood Fashion Secrets and several jewelry lines. Polished will also carry Claire V. handbags, Godfrey added.
“We specialize in groups and custom parties,” Godfrey said. “We have an open area for manicures and pedicures, and we serve a complimentary glass of champagne for customers on Thursday and Friday evenings.”
Godfrey said hiring and training has already begun, and Polished expects to hire a total of 15 to 20 team members for the Blacksburg location.
Polished has a partnership with Bethany Hall in Roanoke, a recovery home for women, which helps provide employment and training to some of the home’s clients.
“We can’t wait to be part of the Blacksburg family, and we are committed to making a difference in our area,” Godfrey said.

My mother-in-law will flip. Between Yoga and the Gourmet store at Collegiate Square,
the Farmer’s Market and Polished…she’s got a day full of to-dos.

I love the look of the salon! It is exactly what we need around here. I have been to a similar salon in Charlotte where wine is served and it makes it so much more enjoyable to meet friends and indulge in girl time. I look forward to the opening!
