Burrito fans and Virginia Tech Relay for Life supporters began lining up about 11 a.m. Thursday to have their shot at free burritos for a year, courtesy of Moe’s Southwest Grill in Blacksburg.

Customers camped outside the store overnight in a line that stretched down College Avenue.

The first 200 customers in line when the store opened this morning received a “free burritos for a year” card.

To help support Tech’s Relay for Life initiative, Moe’s matched every dollar spent at their location today and donated the amount to the cause.

Additionally, Moe’s donated 10 cents for every “Like” their Facebook page received and every tweet sent using the hashtag #MoesVTRelay.

Customers could also receive free burritos for a month if they donated $25, among other fundraising efforts.

As of noon Friday, Tech Relay for Life had already raised more than $225,000. Tech will host its Relay for Life event on April 20 at 5 p.m. on the Drillfield. For more information about Tech Relay for Life, visit www.VTRelay.org.
