Cookie company coming to Radford

Crumb & Get It Cookie Company will open within the first two weeks of May and will be located at 1154 E. Main St. Mike Shaw | The Burgs

RADFORD – It took less than two months for the space that once occupied Jack’s Subs in Radford to open its doors again. This time, Radford will welcome Crumb & Get It Cookie Company.

Owners Chris McMurray and his wife, Kelly, hope to open the shop within the first two weeks of May.

Chris McMurray said the shop will specialize in custom, made-to-order cookies and likened the shop to the ice cream industry’s Cold Stone Creamery.

Customers will be able to walk in and choose from four different types of cookie dough. Then, the customer can choose from more than 35 “mix-in” ingredients. The ingredients and dough will be mixed together, baked and served to the customer within minutes, he said.

The shop will be putting together “combo” deals which will include milk and denominations of three cookies. The smallest combo deal will sell for less than $5, he added.

Kelly McMurray bakes large cookies using her custom recipe along with her secret ingredient, her husband said.

The shop will be able to make deliveries to students at Radford University, but customers must order a minimum of 12 cookies. Crumb & Get It will accept RU Express.

In addition to cookies, the shop will also serve gourmet cupcakes, which will be made in-house, and hand-dipped ice cream.

The McMurray’s once owned the same cookie shop in Blacksburg but had to close the shop nearly three years ago when Chris McMurray took a job out-of-state.

They are back home now and have been waiting for just the right space to open up in downtown Radford.

“The Jack’s Subs location was already built out, and the layout fit what we were looking for,” Chris McMurray said.

“We desired to be in Radford. We think we’re in a good place and at a good location.”

  4. I just wanted to say Congratulations for being an honest person with the guts to stand up for what you believe. We now have the most corrupt, dishonest administration in office and I’m hoping and praying that we can get back to the way America is suppose to be with the upcoming election. Good luck and thank you!
