Halloween store opens its doors in Radford

RADFORD — With Halloween just weeks away, a new Halloween store has set up shop temporarily on Main Street in Radford, just beside the Radford Theatre.
Party U Store Manager Jay Ababseh said his store, located at 1059 E. Main St., is much like any other Halloween store in the New River Valley selling masks, costumes, makeup and accessories.
Ababseh said the Radford location would be “seasonal” and his only store in the New River Valley. Radford was chosen for a very specific reason, he added.
“It’s a college town, and there are a lot of parties around here,” Ababseh said. “Students really like to go all out and dress up for Halloween.”
Many customers have visited to browse the store since its opening Oct. 1, but Ababseh said he feels like there will be plenty of last-minute shoppers just before Halloween.
Ababseh said Party U is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
