Hundreds of people filled the parking lot of the New River Valley Mall Saturday to take part in the Christiansburg Police Department’s annual fall festival.
The event featured live music by the praise band from Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Christiansburg and more than a dozen vendors distributing children’s health and safety information.
Children participated in games, activities and hay and train rides, free of charge.
At noon the Carilion Clinic’s LifeGuard helicopter made a special appearance, landing among the crowd.
