Floyd County residents named to Virginia Tech’s fall 2011 dean’s list
The following students from Floyd County and enrolled at Virginia Tech were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must attempt at least 12 credit hours graded on the A-F option and earn a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester. The list is in alphabetical order by hometown:

Eric J. Horne of Check is a freshman majoring in general engineering in the College of Engineering.
Amber B. Wiley-Vawter of Check is a junior majoring in English in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Carmen S. Bolt of Floyd a sophomore majoring in history in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Joseph H. Conduff of Floyd is a sophomore majoring in biochemistry in the College of Science.
Joseph H. Gelpi of Floyd is a senior majoring in architecture in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.
Kaya J. Norton of Floyd is a junior majoring in chemistry in the College of Science.
Shasta R. Sowers of Floyd is a junior majoring in agricultural sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Conor P. Hand of Floyd is a junior majoring in political science in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
