NRCC Educational Foundation scholarship application deadline is May 31
Thursday, May 31, is the deadline for students to submit applications for endowed scholarships being offered through the New River Community College Educational Foundation. These scholarships will support studies during the academic year beginning in August 2012. Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to qualified persons to attend NRCC.
The awards are based primarily on financial need and scholastic achievement or potential, and are available to persons who are enrolled or intend to enroll in specific programs. Persons of all ages may be considered for NRCC Educational Foundation Scholarships.
For most scholarships, the applicant must be a citizen of Virginia living in Giles, Floyd, Pulaski or Montgomery counties or Radford City; must enroll in a program of study or declare a major; furnish a fully completed application and two letters of recommendation from non-family members; and furnish copies of high school and/or college transcripts.
Scholarship recipients must maintain a class load of nine credit hours or more at NRCC. Once enrolled, students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0, unless otherwise noted.
The foundation scholarship application and eligibility requirements may be found by visiting www.nr.edu/sa. All applications must be submitted online.
