NRCC to offer Smart Board Technology Integration class for teachers in June and July

New River Community College will offer a course in Smart Board Technology Integration for classroom teachers. The class will meet on June 18 and 19 and July 9, 10 and 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Public Schools Technology Center at 1180 N. Franklin St. in Christiansburg. Additionally, 20 hours of online coursework is required.

The course will assist classroom teachers in integrating the Smart Notebook 11 software into lessons aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning. In addition to covering the Smart Notebook 11 software, other major course topics include using the interactive white board or “smartboard,” using the Lesson Activity Toolkit 2.0 and SMART Response student remotes, incorporating Discovery Streaming and YouTube videos and locating instructional resources online.

This is a three-credit course and tuition is $363.15 for in-state students. Registration information is available from the NRCC Office of Workforce Development at 674-3613.
