Caroline Blevins of Floyd serves as Tech freshman-orientation leader
Caroline Blevins of Floyd served as an orientation leader this summer for Virginia Tech’s incoming class of freshmen during New Student Orientation.
Blevins, a junior majoring in communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, interacted with students and their families individually and through group sessions to acclimate new Hokies to the Virginia Tech community. Orientation leaders facilitated group discussion, during which leaders shared tips for campus living, gave advice on academic success, and built up the student’s excitement for the start of fall semester.
In addition to orientation leaders, orientation assistants supported the New Student Programs staff and assisted with program planning and implementation. Assistants served as team leaders for the orientation leaders and facilitated training sessions using the extensive knowledge of the orientation program from previously serving as orientation leaders.
