NRCC Phi Beta Lambda members attend conference, fill stockings for children

Members of New River Community College’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter recently attended a National Fall Leadership Conference in Charlotte, N.C. While there, they attended motivational general sessions and professional development and career planning workshops such as business ethics and “how to dress in business attire.”

Chapter members also gave back to the community recently by collecting

stockings filled with toys for the Salvation Army of the New River Valley. NRCC students, faculty, staff and members of the community filled more than 100 stockings for the effort. NRCC PBL students have been filling stockings for the Salvation Army for more than 20 years, and they often assist the organization on the day the stockings are distributed.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association that helps prepare students for careers in business and business-related fields.
