Christine Cornwell of Blacksburg receives master’s degree from University of Kansas
The names of more than 1,440 candidates for degrees for the fall 2012 semester at the University of Kansas have been announced by the Office of the University Registrar, including Christine Cornwell of Blacksburg.
She received a Master of Science in geology.
Graduate and undergraduate degrees are conferred in December based on work completed during the fall semester. Because the university conducts only one formal commencement ceremony each year, many students graduating in the fall or summer terms will return on May 19 for the traditional walk down the Hill into Memorial Stadium for the ceremony.
Four of the university’s colleges and schools conducted recognition programs or hooding ceremonies in December to honor those planning to graduate in the fall of 2012: the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Education and the School of Engineering.
