Magalhaes joins VCOM faculty; Mills named director of admissions

Dr. Edward Magalhaes has joined the faculty at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Virginia Campus in Blacksburg. In addition to his teaching responsibilities as an assistant professor for neuropsychiatry and behavioral sciences, he serves as the director of academic and counseling services. He also aids the student doctors in sharpening their patient-doctor relationships and humanistic skills. Magalhaes is a member of the Virginia Counselors Association, was the president of the New River Valley Counselors Association (2010-11) and is currently the president-elect of the Virginia Counselors Association (2011-12).
Julie Mills has been named director of admissions at the Virginia campus. She received her undergraduate and

Julie Mills
graduate degrees from Radford University and had prior experience in higher education by working at Radford University and with Virginia Tech’s Career Services office. Mills oversees the admissions, interview and recruiting efforts and is continually working to bring in a quality class of osteopathic physicians.
