Elliston man faces drug, child abuse charges
An Elliston man faces child abuse and drug charges stemming from a Friday Social Services well-being check, according to a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Sheriff’s office investigators and employees with the county Department of Social Services responded to a house in the 4700 block of Calloway Street to check on a child. Their findings indicated that meth was being made in the proximity of children in the home.
Deputies found materials to make meth and 13 bottles used for the “one pot” method of cooking meth.
Kevin Lewis Crawford, 41, was arrested and charged with manufacturing meth, child abuse and neglect, possession of precursors to manufacture meth and possession a firearm with drugs. Crawford was being held today in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
