New name announced for business incubator

Posted April 27, 2012

Economic development leaders have shortened the name of the New River Valley Competitiveness Center in Fairlawn to the New River Valley Business Center.

The center, which belongs to a coalition of local governments organized as the New River Valley Development Corp., is a business incubator with space available for offices and low-impact manufacturing. Tenants  receive support around business planning, marketing, finance, access to capital and other business issues.

The name change was announced Wednesday by Christiansburg Town Council member Mike Barber, who is president of the corporation’s board of directors.

Information about tenancy is available by contacting Shawn Utt or Doug Hudson at 633-6730 or incubatormanager@nrvdc.org.
