BLACKSBURG – Gumby’s Pizza & Wings on Prices Fork Road closed its doors earlier this week.
With the exception of restaurant equipment, the Gumby’s space is empty, and location information for the Blacksburg Gumby’s location has been removed from the company’s website.
As of right now, Kevin Nolley, a representative for Terry Court Properties, who owns the building, said Gumby’s still had an existing lease on the property.
But the restaurant space shouldn’t be vacant for long, according to Benny Marzano’s co-owner Chris Brown.
Brown confirmed a second Blacksburg location of the pizza shop will move into the space sometime in July. Benny Marzano’s opened in downtown Blacksburg late last year.
At the Prices Fork location, Benny Marzano’s will offer delivery services, something its downtown location does not, Brown said.
“We decided to start delivering because we wanted to make our customers happy,” Brown said.
“The space and the equipment became available and we saw an opportunity.”
When a return phone call was made to Terry Court Properties, a representative declined to comment about Benny Marzano’s.
