Two people charged with assaulting and robbing elderly Radford woman

A Radford man and a minor are charged with beating and robbing a 70-year-old woman.

Police responded to a house on the 200 block of Ingles Street in Radford Friday night. When they arrived, they found a 70-year-old woman who had been beaten, according to a news release. The woman’s purse was stolen, along with $800 in cash and medication, according to police.

She was taken to New River Valley Center and given several stitches to her head before being released.

After some investigation, Chase Allen Patrick, 26, of Radford was arrested Saturday night, according to the release.  He’s charged with robbery, aggravated malicious wounding, burglary  to commit a felony while armed with a deadly weapon, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit a felony. He was taken to New River Valley Regional Jail, where he’s being held today without bond.

Patrick was accompanied by a 15-year-old male who is also charged in the incident.
