This is fantastic news. Amazing. If they can leverage the national retailers with locals, get office space built on the previous wal mart site to put daytime consumers onsite; and get a four screen theatre that carries the top four releases as a premium theatre it will create a strong retail environment that complements all that is happening downtown with development in the arts and professional sectors, which will ultimately also place more people in the business district. Let;s support this group and make this business area a success. Its our town, so we should strive to feel pride for ALL areas of town, thanks for investing!
i hope things get better, but it’s the economy holding things back, not the town, not the leasing agents etc. People in business in Blackbsurg know it’s a tough town for business. Take away the student population and it is a very small town indeed. The students aren’t regular customers as they once were, VT does a great job of keeping them on campus . That is why there aren’t as many restaurants and shops in town .
