Radford’s Max Jenkins was a fervent fixture of law

Max Jenkins, who practiced law in Virginia for 50 years, was considered the “dean of criminal defense” by several of his New River Valley colleagues for the high-profile crime cases he tackled and his method of engaging juries.

The Radford lawyer died Monday at his home after a long-time illness, family members said. He was 78.
