Terrace View expansion a hot issue in Blacksburg
Parking and traffic concerns dominated a meeting Thursday about plans to expand the Terrace View apartment complex.
Home mostly to Virginia Tech students and located less than a mile from campus, Terrace View is Blacksburg’s second-largest apartment development. A plan to add 163 bedrooms to the more than 1,700 already present would make the complex the town’s largest.

Having lived three blocks from Terrace View for more than 35 years now I can unquestionably say that I have NEVER seen overflow traffic or other “gridlock” issues associated with the development. And since the construction and widening of Patrick Henry and Progress Streets through the northern periphery to match up with the dozens of private residences and condo complexes adjacent to them the traffic has actually gotten much better. TV’s plan is a good, solid plan – approve it.
