For Wes Worsham, a two-beer salute

Trading his customary sideline attire for a more reverent look, Wes Worsham made his way to Westview Cemetery last week as he does every Aug. 10, eager to share a beer with an old friend.

The longtime and prominent Virginia Tech booster for whom the Lane Stadium field is named is easily recognizable on gamedays, decked out in a maroon hat, tie and blazer and khaki pants dotted by sewn-on Hokie birds.

On this day, his only identifying accessories are the two tall cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon in his hands.
