Christiansburg police urge Labor Day weekend motorists to use caution

Posted August 31, 2012

The Christiansburg Police Department is preparing for the Labor Day holiday weekend with additional traffic patrol to reduce impaired driving, speeding and other offenses that endanger the public.

“Labor Day weekend is one of the most dangerous weekends of the year for drivers,” says Maj. Dalton Reid. “People have their end of summer hoorahs and end up driving dangerously. It’s very important to stay alert and practice safe driving.”

Labor Day weekend brings heavy traffic and impaired drivers. Law enforcement officers urge drivers to use extra caution on the roads.

The police department reminds motorists to always practice safe driving methods, such as following speed limits and wearing seat belts.
