Lane closures scheduled on I-81
Highway crews plan nightly lane closures this week on Interstate 81 southbound near Christiansburg, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Crews plan to close one of two southbound lanes at select points between mile markers 120 and 125 after 10 p.m. tonight, Wednesday and Thursday. All closed lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. the following mornings, VDOT said.
The closures are for shoulder work related to widening the highway to create a five-mile, truck-climbing lane over Christiansburg Mountain.
