Meningitis claims woman with Christiansburg ties

Another back pain patient with area ties has died after receiving tainted steroid injections, leaving her disabled husband without his primary caregiver.

Diana Reed, 56, a Christiansburg High School graduate, was living in Brentwood, Tenn., when she died of the rare fungal form of meningitis that has killed or sickened dozens across several states, said her brother-in-law Jeff Reed.
