Radford University student struck by vehicle
A Radford University student is reported in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday.
The victim, 19, of Christiansburg, was struck at about 8 p.m. at a pedestrian crosswalk on Jefferson Street in Radford, according to a Radford police news release. The victim’s name was not released by police today.
The vehicle involved in the incident was a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. Julie Anne Ruhe of Monrovia, Md., also a Radford University student, was charged with one count of reckless driving, according to police. Ruhe was not injured in the incident. according to the release.
The crash victim was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she is listed in stable condition in the intensive care unit, according to police.
