Christiansburg man will serve 16 years in prison for rape and other sexual offenses
A Christiansburg man who was found guilty of rape and other sexual offenses earlier this year was sentenced today to 16 years in prison. Christopher Matthew Walrond, 35, was convicted of rape and sodomy in May for a March 14, 2011, incident with a 27-year-old Christiansburg woman. In addition to those charges, Walrond in June pleaded guilty to single counts of grand larceny, breaking and entering and unlawful video recording of a child younger than 14.
