Montgomery County officials begin school budget talks
A preliminary schools budget would require new county revenue equivalent to a 5-cent jump in the real estate tax rate, which last year was raised 12 cents to 87 cents per $100 value.

I think it is time that the school board reign in it’s spending. When are the TAX INCREASES going to stop? You think that all you have to do is say is we want and you will be able to get it. Well, there comes a time when it has to come to a screeching halt and I think the time is now. There are a lot of seniors who are on a fixed budget, (which I don’t think you know what that means) and can’t afford to pay more taxes, just because you say you want. Well, it’s time you stop spending money that you DON’T have.
