  1. The Roanoke Times has made its choices in the Radford School Board elections…Seeing as the Roanoke Times aligns itself with the radical liberal left, i.e., Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid…you know, the same folks that are trying to destroy Christianity/GOD at every turn !!! Vote Ken Alderman on May 1

  2. I agree Jeff Doto except I say vote Starnes for experience and proven knowledge to lead! Come on Roanoke Times we know your game with these endorsements & your liberal paper! VOTE FOR TOM STARNES!

  3. I agree with you both but lean towards Ken Alderman for some positive changes, vote for Starnes, status quo. The REAL issue is what business does this oh so very liberal RT newspaper have in endorsing anybody or anything outside of the Roanoke Valley in the first place? Seems the Radford News Journal should be the paper for Radford endorsements. Good luck to all.

  4. @Ancient Bobcat We endorse in races throughout our circulation area, which includes the New River Valley. Indeed, the paper maintains a bureau in Christiansburg and an editorial writer (me) lives and works out of the NRV.

  5. Oh, you mean the burgs don’t you? C-burg and B-burg which in all reality is one and the same? Is there a bureau in Radford? Just where is Radford since it ISN’T a burg. Get real. Nothing more than your paper’s liberal agenda of upsetting the Apple cart by being the rotten one of the bunch!

  6. Great work on the RT endorsements for the Radford City endorsments as plainly and totally biased. Anyone can say anything but in my eyes, actions speak volumes over words. The margin of victory for school board member Ken Alderman only goes to show how out of the loop this liberal based newspaper is. Never, as far back as I can remember has one candidate received such an overwhelming vote for a school board seat as Mr. Alderman. Stay in the “burgs”, you certainly don’t know anything about Radford. Just for general information, who at the RT has the authority for endosements? Is it you, C? Or is it whom? Come on, man up and let the people know exactly who actually has the authority to endorse? Naturally, I’m sure with this endorsement record, a whole lot of eggs on the faces of these “phantoms”. Congratulations to Mr. Alderman for standing up for his beliefs and not cow-towing to such bs as this paper has. Radford now has a student advocate and will always put the children first, not some idiotic organization that puts themselves above the welfare of the children. Come on C, let’s hear it.

  7. @ Ancient Bobcat: Editorial endorsements are determined by the editorial board and recommend the best candidates in the race based on our interviews with the candidates, our knowledge of the issues in the race, and other research. They are not, however, predictions, so we feel no egg on our faces.
