County sets a tax-waiver precedent

Whenever people insist they are not establishing a precedent, it’s a safe bet that, in fact, they are. So when we heard members of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors last week insist that waiving real estate taxes for a proposed thrift store and food pantry did not set a precedent, we put little credence in it.
