I am appalled at the flyer sent by this campaign featuring a picture of Morva. The Morva incident was the first in a series of horrific events for the Blacksburg community. Sending Morva’s picture to each mailbox in the area was insensitive, inappropriate, and tramatic for some. Morva should not be used for publicity stints but be a reminder of the failures of our school and mental health systems

This so-called "endorsement" can be better described as a "left-handed compliment". "Both have management experience" is nothing but partisan politics. Pettitt was Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in Montgomery County for seven years. That is what is called leadership experience as a prosecutor. The editorial omits that Pettitt was endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police and the Police Benevolent Association. These are the men and women who know prosecutors best. The "crack" about Finch refers to what a general practitioner (who is not a criminal defense lawyer)said and is nothing but "sour grapes". I am a criminal defense lawyer and have practiced in multiple jurisdictions and have never had any problems with the discovery policy in the Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
