Award-winning transparency in Giles County

Back in September, we noted with some satisfaction that a Virginia judge had fined Glen Lyn and its town manager for violating the state Freedom of Information Act. Apparently we were not the only ones with our eyes on the group that had been denied access to public records. On Nov. 30, Vernon Kelley and Concerned Citizens of Giles County will receive the Virginia Coalition for Open Government’s 2012 citizens FOIA award.
