Protecting a forest is not disorderly
by Rosemarie G. Sawdon

The approximately 400-year-old trees in the urban forest adjoining Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium hold much history. To protect this unique environment from degradation is a moral issue. Blacksburg and the Tech community are extremely fortunate to have such a local treasure.
Sawdon is retired and lives in Blacksburg. She is a founding member of Virginia Forest Watch and an advocate for local, sustainable farming.
