Check Elementary School celebrated Principal Appreciation week Feb. 7 with a surprise assembly honoring principal Kitty Sims.
The students of CES were waiting quietly in the gym for Sims to arrive brought in by Dr. Harris, under the guise of doing a safety walk through.
She was truly surprised to see the entire school assembled in her honor. Sims was led to the stage where a “throne” covered with balloons was awaiting her.
She was presented with a sash, scepter, crown, and robe to be “queen for the day.” The entire school was led in a cheer of…2, 4, 6, 8, We think Mrs. Sims is great. Then she was serenaded by our own Check Elementary School band.
The kindergarten class presented her with posters, and Mrs. Sims graciously thanked the audience and commented that this was truly a wonderful surprise.
